Rigging Screws Turnbuckles

Rigging Screws Turnbuckles

Proboat are the UK distributors for the world renowned Blue Wave range of UNF and metric Rigging Screws with sizes from 1/4 inch up to 1 3/8 inch and M5 up to M36 with break loads from 800kg up to 42,000kg. Also known as turnbuckles, wire rope adjusters or barrel strainers, we stock a huge choice of closed body stainless steel, open body chrome bronze or closed body stainless steel with chrome bronze threads. The QRT Quick Race Tune Rigging Screws feature a calibrated stainless body with chrome bronze adjuster nut – particularly popular with Olympic class racing dinghies such as the 49er and 29er.

All Blue Wave Rigging Screws are made from the highest quality materials and designed to meet and exceed the design, weight and breaking loads required at sea or in industry. From the standard electro polished fitting to the highest performance CNC machined component each one is precision made to meet extreme conditions to guarantee safety.

Available in AISI 316 stainless steel or polished chrome plated bronze with a wide variety of end fittings to suit every rigging application, including forks, toggles, eyes, swage terminals and swageless terminals for fitting directly to the end of the wire.

For convenience, the thread size is laser engraved onto each body together with a marking signifying the left-hand threaded end. Where a swage end terminal is featured, the swage terminal is also marked with the wire size and wire depth.

The sleek Blue Wave open chrome bronze bodies are favoured by riggers in the marine industry as the combination of the chrome bronze body and stainless steel end fittings prevents the threads from seizing.

For safety reasons it is recommended the working load should not exceed 20% or 1/5 of the breaking load.

Proboat also offers a range of galvanised steel Rigging Screws for traditional working boats and various industrial applications.
