Stainless steel swivels are used to connect two parts of a system that rotate in different directions. In marine applications a swivel allows anchor chain, mooring chains or rigging components to rotate freely, helping prevent twisting, stress and wear.
Our range includes lightweight stamped stainless steel swivels for lower loads through to forged high-strength marine swivels designed for demanding marine environments.
Wichard Forged Swivels
Wichard swivels are forged from HR (High Resistance 17.4PH) stainless steel, producing excellent working and breaking loads while keeping weight to a minimum.
These forged swivels are widely used in marine rigging and anchoring systems where strength and reliability are essential. Break loads vary by size, with some models rated up to 8,500kg.
The Wichard stainless steel mooring swivels are forged from a specialised stainless steel formulation designed to increase corrosion resistance during continual underwater submersion.
Proboat Standard Swivels
Proboat standard swivels are manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel, offering a reliable balance between strength and corrosion resistance.
These swivels provide a durable and economical alternative to fully forged fittings while maintaining excellent quality and long-term reliability in marine environments.
